DIME Denver

In 2016, the Detroit Institute of Music Education (“DIME”) partnered with Metropolitan State University to expand its iconic music school from Detroit, Michigan, to Denver, Colorado. DIME offered certificate and bachelor's degree programs through Metropolitan State University of Denver. Student enrollment numbers never fully reached the expectations of DIME and Metro, and consequently the partnership only lasted four years before it terminated during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the excitement and stakes surrounding the real estate acquisition were very high, and the build out of a uniquely different setting for a music education program was worthy of admiration.
